G'Day Blokes and Sheilas!

I am glad to see that there was a lot of positive feedback about the last newsletter. It makes me happy to see that you all like to get my newsletter and get something out of it.

One subscriber, Mick, pointed out that if you are nosy you can use Zillow.com to work out what your neighbors homes are worth. Quite sneaky Mick.

As always I have been a busy boy. Had some crappy problems with Thinkers Hosting, but all is taken care of and now we sport another great server with even more standard features. I had my final Homeland Security meeting for my residency, and am happy to report I am here to stay!

So that leads me to a rant. Immigration sucks! The whole process sis so flawed it is not funny. Whether you be an illegal from south of the border, and think it is now your right to stay in the country. Or you are someone like me who did it the right way and spent a small fortune doing so, the system is broken! It does not work for anyone. In a perfect world there would be world peace and borders would not matter, but for now it does, so will someone please come up with a fair and reasonable system for all people, regardless of race, religion or financial status.

Finally, in a couple of weeks I get married to Casey. Pretty amazing I think. I do believe life will only continue to get better and more interesting and varied over the next few years. Who knows at some point it may even get normal!

Nathan Allan

P.S. Casey approved this weeks joke.

Definition: Full as a Pommy Complaint Box

I bet you wonder what on earth I am talking about here? Well it is term used when one is somewhat drunk.

With my wedding on the cards for this month I hope I do not get so full as to need to make a long distance call on the big white telephone.

I will let you all have a think about that one. TOP

Software Review: DNSstuff.com

There are bits of software that can do all of the stuff this site offers, however this is somewhat more convenient for the most part.

You will probably never need to use half of the features on this site, but it is nice to know they are there.

For starters you are given your IP address and approximate location. Then you have the option of everything from performing a PING on a IP or domain, through to email tests. You can do other common commands like trace route and even WHOIS lookups.

This is definitely a site worth bookmarking.

Quotable: Someone Said...

Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working.

Web site Review: MySpace

I do not know about the rest of world but it seems currently every time you turn on the news MySpace is being blamed for the evils of the world.

MySpace is basically a collection of blogs for people ranging from 16 through mid-thirties. Predominantly they are for the younger age groups.

The thing that makes MySpace different from other blogs is the ease of which they can be linked together, by allowing your friends and others to network with each other.

The biggest controversy seems to be the sometimes adult oriented photos and videos placed on the sites by minors. These are sometimes bordering on pornographic. Not a great thing for younger kids to be doing with all the sicko's out there.

Another worry is that some of these kids are posting plots to kill classmates, along with other anti-social behavior. In turn employers, universities and colleges are checking out applicants MySpace listings to see if they make appropriate employees.

So for those of you with kids that are worried about the content of these sites, make certain they give you full disclosure of what they are doing online. If they are a little older and classed as adults, hopefully you have brought them up with the morals and ethics that will make sure they do not do anything that will lessen their chances with employment or education opportunities.

On the upside this network of blogs is just another way that the Internet is making it easier to stay networked with friends and family.

The Great Australian Joke: Costume Party

A man went to a Costume Party with nothing but a young woman on his back.

"So what the hell are you supposed to be?" the host asked.

"I'm a snail." The man replied.

"What a load of crap!" the host spat. "How can you be a snail when all you've got is that young woman on your back?"

"You've got it wrong, mate," the fellow replied. "That's Michelle".
