G'Day Blokes and Sheilas!

This issue marks a sad occasion. This Saturday I not only get older but I well and truly enter my thirties at age 31. Ok so it isn't really that sad. It is just a fact of life. It is however a great chance to reflect on life and where you are.

As many of my readers know there have been personal, business and financial bumps in the road but nonetheless life is good. As they say there has been a silver lining to every cloud!

On to the issue. I have bought back the Bargain Bin section as I always see some great deals I think at least some of you will like. I have the finish of the reminiscent look at Australian life, which a few American readers have found similar to their childhoods here in the states.

Have a bonza day!

Nathan Allan

Definition: The Lucky Country

I know all of my American subscribers will say the USA is the Lucky Country but you would be wrong. Australia has long been known as the lucky country, and every foreigner I have ever met that has actually been to Australia tends to agree.

We are so lucky to be stuck there at the end of the Earth a days flight to anywhere else (ok so New Zealand is a bit more remote). We have the cultural diversity, unspoilt environments and generally great people live there!

Bargain Bin: Rebates Galore

Rebates and Coupons aren't something that have taken hold in Australia, but here in the USA rebates and coupons can save you a small fortune. Sometimes you can even get products for free after rebates. Of course these work as not everyone bothers sending in or following through with the rebate. Also the rebates can take a couple of months to receive so you are still out of pocket until you get that check in the mail!

So this weeks bargain is hooking you up with one of my favorite online retailers, ZipZoomFly and their Rebate Centre.

Web Site Review: Internet Archive Way Back Machine

If your looking for a trip down memory lane this is the site for you. With archives of most popular sites the Way Back Machine can show you how a web site looked way back to the identities.

Of course I have a list of sites that I like to look back on including, NetBloke, Sausage, RUCC and Thinkers.

It does a pretty good job of it too, with multiple listings of sites at various points in history. Not exactly a useful tool but and interesting one!

The Great Australian Joke: Part Three: What Aussie legends are made of...

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was boy/girl germs, and the worst thing in your day was having to sit next to one. Where bluelight disco's were the equivalent to a Rave, and asking a boy out meant writing a 'polite' note getting them to tick 'yes' or 'no'. When there was always that one 'HOT' guy/girl. Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot. Your biggest danger at school was accidentally walking through the middle of a heated game of "brandies".

Nobody was prettier than your Mum. Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better. Taking drugs meant scoffing orange-flavored chewable vitamin C's, or swallowing half a Panadol. Ice cream was considered a basic food group.

Going to the beach and catching a wave was a dream come true. If you actually lived there boogie boarding in the white wash made you the next Kelly Slater. Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dare". Older siblings were the worst tormentors, but also the fiercest protectors.

Now, didn't that bring back some fond memories?? If you can remember most of these, you're an Aussie legend!!! Pass this on to another Aussie Legend who may need a break from their "grown up" life...

I DOUBLE-DARE YA!!!!!
