G'Day Blokes and Sheilas!
So I told a white lie last issue. Casey and I did not go kayaking. Rather we went to Sydney and Melbourne. Surprising my family was a blast. My Dad was surprised at work and then my Mum almost fell over when I knocked on the door at home. My sister Kristen didn't know what to think.
I am going to eventually get around to posting journal entries from the trip to my blog. In the meantime though I shall put snippets of my experience in the newsletter.
I hope to soon have a twist or two to announce in this newsletter. This will hopefully be great for NetBloke subscribers. I may even be able to wrangle a sizable discount or deal that you can all benefit from! I really like to look after my loyal subscribers.
Finally I would love it if you could tell me what antivirus you are using and why, or why not, you like it. My current solution just isn't cutting it when it comes to Trojan Horses.
So without further ado here is the issue!
Have a bonza day!

Definition: Dingo
I am defining a Dingo as the majority of people who see my Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) call her a Dingo or sometimes a Wolf. She is nothing like one!
A Dingo is a wolflike yellowish-brown wild dog of Australia. They are a large lean dog. You can see some pictures via Google here.
The Australian National Kennel Club recognizes the Dingo as a pure breed of dog and accepts the breed for showing in those states where it is legal to own. No other kennel clubs accept them.

Web Site Review: Melbourne Zoos
Casey and I went to both the Healsville Sanctuary and Melbourne Zoo while in Melbourne.
Healsville is about an hour outside Melbourne, and Dad actually came along with us. The highlight of course was the Birds of Prey exhibit. Here you get to see various raptors in full flight. They swoop and soar above the crowd, sometimes touching you as they fly overhead.
The Melbourne Zoo continues to change, with this visit there was the new Elephant area. It is set up with the butterfly house to look like a village in Thailand. Very beautiful and lots of fun.
This site was actually developed by my old mates at RUCC, Ed and Russell. It is a great site that does the zoos justice.

Sydney? That's a strange name for a city. Why didn't they call it Fred?

The Great Australian Joke: Aussie Grasshoppers
A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There, he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking. The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large. Then they walk around the station a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, "We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows". The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks, "And what are those?" The Aussie replies with an incredulous look, "Don't you have any grasshoppers in Texas?"
