G'Day Blokes and Sheilas!
This is a very important issue. I know your wondering why so I won't beat around the bush. I am swapping my newsletter management program. The next issue you receive will be sent using the new system. If all goes well you won't even realize it has happened. The one difference you might see is that I use a different mail server to send it.
There are many other reasons for the swap too. Some you will see in the short term and others in the longer haul. The first big one is that you will soon have a choice between HTML and Plain Text versions of the newsletter. I think that should make the vocal minority happy! At a later date there will be other great features tied in with your subscription.
Back to this issue's content. I hit on what I think is a great new fad, freecycling. That and a few of the usual features are in this cut-down version of the newsletter.
Have a bonza day!

Definition: SMTP
SMTP is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. You have probably used it for sending email via a mail server, especially if you use a client such as Outlook or Eudora. It is used in conjunction with POP or IMAP to retrieve your mail from the mail server.

Web Site Review: Freecycle
Freecycle. It makes you feel good.
You don't even have to ride a bike to do it.
What is it? Well it is all about giving away stuff you have and don't want, and getting stuff you want for free.
Now don't misinterpret that description. It does not mean you automatically get free stuff. There is no exchange of items. You just give freely. Let me quote the rule; "One rule: everything posted must be free. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the network. Or, maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself? Respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the giver to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure".
Let me share my first experience with using the freecycle. I am on the Seattle list (Aussies there are local groups their too) and noticed someone wanted a treadmill. I knew my friend Eric had one sitting in storage that he wanted to get rid of. So I asked him and took the freecycle one step further and delivered it. As luck would have it the recipient has a Aquarium she is giving to me, and a VW Campervan she is asking her husband about offloading to us (at cost) too.
So do a nice thing. Offer your excess and get something in return! It may only be goodwill but it makes the world a nicer place.
