Well it has been a fairly eventful start to the year. Des Moines is cold, but the snow just not eventuated yet. I hear that Kentucky has had about three times as much. I think the reverse would normally be true.
I was looking forward to some snow. I wanted to take Hayden sledding. Actually I wanted to take me sledding more. It might just have to wait until next year!
I have been using the net lately to research some big potential purchases. Airline tickets, cars and even books. In all three cases I believe I have saved myself (or potentially saved myself) a lot of money!
That brings me to the point of this issue. Saving money. Shopping smartly. Making the most out of that Internet account you pay $10 to $50 a month for! With a few big ticket items you can easily justify the cost of a more expensive permanent cable or DSL connection. (If Uncle Mike got one we might just come and visit more often, hint hint). I just cannot live without my cable connection. No that isn't sad, as it is my job to be online all the time. I would rather go without a telephone than Internet!
Anyway before I get to the guts of this issue, let me tell you all that if you surf on over to www.sausagesizzler.com you can sign up for the revamped version of Sausage's Webmaster newsletter. It should be great!
Seeya later alligator!

Come a cropper!
With all the ice around in the parking lots here. I often almost fall over. I am not use to ice. So when you come a cropper it is when you almost fall on your behind.
I have to say that when I first tried stopping the car and it failed to stop immediately, I realized ice was a big deal when driving. I didn't even see it. I think I will stay home in the future.
Have you ever hit a site that starts popping up unwanted windows left, right and center? Boy it is annoying. Well there is a quicker and easier way then pointing and clicking (and who can keep up anyway?). All you do is use CTRL and W. This closes the current active window. Which in the case of most pop-up windows, this should do the job.
Well I thought I would focus on some of my searching on the Web for cars over the past couple of weeks. Karissa and I decided we need a new one. Our current car being Karissa's first. She has made it last 8 years which isn't bad at all. We have just outgrown the old Cavalier.
Anyway the first thing was to find a car that could seat more than 5. So we did this online. We found a few vans and SUVs. Then we looked at the specs of the vehicles and the like. Fuel consumption, insurance costs, overall costs, and standard and optional features were the main focus.
We do not want to spend a fortune on a car so we got it down to a Kia Sedona or a Suzuki XL7. We then checked out the specific car manufacturers Web sites, for the much more sales oriented spin. The XL7 wins out due to the added bonus of being 4WD and cheaper to fill up!
If you could do a road test at your computer there wouldn't even be the need to drive over to the car dealership!
So check out these sites whether you are buying a new or used car. We are going to opt for a used one, a year old. That way we won't have to pay top dollar.

This joke came to me via my friend Archie. Somewhat risque
subject matter but I think it is smart not smutty. Plus I
do a bit of marketing so I thought this was funny.
