G'day!
Thanks for all the great feedback on the last issue of NetBloke. I covered a lot of good parenting sites briefly so I was not sure what the reaction would be.
You will notice you are getting this issue earlier than usual, for a couple of reasons. I am going to San Francisco to drum up some support for the latest version of HotDog Professional (that is my job after all), and when my good friends at Lockergnome heard of this I was enlisted to help Gretchen drive out there. So I get to mix a bit of fun with a bit of work. What I like most about my San Francisco trips are the unexpected things that pop up as opportunities!
Anyway this week's issue is dedicated to football, Aussie style! I am going to hold off my issue on computer equipment until next week. The AFL Grand Final is on this week, and I thought all my international subscribers would like an insight into one of Australia's favorite pastimes.
So until next week seeya later!

Ok we are talking about the real thing. No offense intended, but our football players don't use padding, helmets or the like. The game is just as rough and tough as Gridiron, Soccer and Rugby and requires a multitude of skills to be played at the highest level.
Yes footy for me means Australian Rules Football!
For all of those Aussie expats working overseas who want to listen to the Grand Final this Saturday, surf over to the AFL Web site and listen to it with 3AW or ABC radio (unless you can get it on cable or satellite television!) I found that the ABC coverage was better and the sound quality was also crystal clear. I couldn't pick it up that good if I was in Melbourne myself!
So surf on over to:

If you want to see the center of the Web for Australian Rules Football then you cannot go past the Australian Football League's Web site. As the major national competition in Australia, it acts as a hub for other leagues and team Web sites.

If you want to see what a good team looks like (yes I am bias) you cannot go past the Essendon Football Club Web site. Of course I barrack for them, but I believe if you want to follow a team this is the one you should stick with!

For local games of Australian Rules I would take a good look at International Australian Football Confederation Web site. They list numerous countries that I would have never imagined playing Aussie Rules!

Seeing most of you are in the USA I figured I better check out local sites. I was amazed at the professional look that the US leagues have. There appears to be two groups with two separate leagues. Be sure to check out if there is a Grand Final party happening in your area! Here are their sites:
AFANA - Australian Football Association of North America

United States Australian Football League

I am asking this question from last week again. If you have already answered it I have your response already noted. If anyone else wants to drop me a line with their two cents worth please do!
What Web sites do you use for your online purchases? (In particular Computer equipment.)
Email me your answer of if you have a question of your own, contact me.
Ok, I am warning you before you read this. Some of you may think this is a bit risqué! It was sent in by a friend of mine, Clare Pham, a true blue Aussie Sheila!
An Australian Love Poem
Of course I love ya darling
You're a bloody top notch bird
And when I say you're gorgeous
I mean every single word
So ya bum is on the big side
I don't mind a bit of flab
It means that when I'm ready
There's somethin' there to grab
So your belly isn't flat no more
I tell ya, I don't care
So long as when I cuddle ya
I can get my arms round there
No sheila who is your age
Has nice round perky breasts
They just gave in to gravity
But I know ya did ya best
I'm tellin ya the truth now
I never tell ya lies
I think it's very sexy
That you've got dimples on ya thighs
I swear on me nanna's grave now
The moment that we met
I thought you was as good as I
Was ever gonna get
No matter what you look like
I'll always love ya dear
Now shut up while the footy's on
And fetch another beer!
Note: We like our football in Australia! Whether it is Australian Rules or Rugby.
